Baby Bags Overview
The Baby Bags program serves as more than just a diaper bank; it also provides a variety of supplementary services. Offering diapers, wipes, hygiene products, and necessary items for children, the program also includes guidance on child development and safety. These resources are available at the First Chance office or through our partner programs.
Baby Bags Details
Families can get supplies from the Baby Bags diaper bank program by coming by the First Chance for Children office during drop in hours or by calling to schedule an appointment. During the visit families can expect to fill out a brief enrollment form, gain new child health and safety information, receive needed supplies and referrals to community agencies. Items are also available through partner agencies below. Items are available at most, once a month.

Residence
- Boone, Howard, Cooper, Audrain, Callaway, Cole, Marion, Moniteau, Monroe, Osage, Ralls, Sullivan and Randolph counties
Ages
- Supplies for children ages 0-5.
Income
- For families at or below 200% of the poverty line or those who need help.

Items Available
Below are the wide range of supplies that can be obtained by families. Specific items available through the Baby Bags diaper bank program vary by the county the family resides in.
- Diapers: one package of approximately 25 diapers and wipes per age eligible child.
- Home and health items: two items per family. Typical items in stock include: baby shampoo, diaper cream, dish soap, and baby lotion.
- Smart Start Kit: A kit including diapers, wipes, healthcare kit, home childproofing kit, bathwater thermometer infant onesie, community resources, and child safety information. Designed to provide the safety necessities and education for young children.
First Chance for Children Distribution Agency Program
First Chance for Children Baby Bags Program supplies diapers to children in need through our partners. These distribution agencies offer crucial services like healthcare, emergency aid, education, childcare, and case management to families facing challenges. Through our partnership model, families benefit from a network of services that aim to uplift them from poverty and foster healthy outcomes.

Find a service that's right for you and your family
Lend and Learn Toy Libraries
A free, fun place where parents can play with their children ages 0-5, interact with other parents, and ask trained staff questions about development or other concerns. Toys are available for check out so families can extend learning and play at home.
Safe C.R.I.B.S.
Safe C.R.I.B.S., which stands for Community Resources, Infant Beds, and Support provides infants without a safe place to sleep a pack and play crib. The crib is delivered to the family and is followed by 5 additional home visits focusing on family wellbeing and child safety.
Baby U
Baby U is a home visiting program supporting families with their specific parenting needs. Using the Nurturing Parenting and Parents as Teachers models, staff walk alongside families with children prenatally through the first semester of kindergarten providing resources, education, and support.
