Lend & Learn Toy Libraries

Lend & Learn Toy Libraries (L&L) provide a safe location, where young children and their parents can play with toys that develop all domains of development including social-emotional, cognitive, motor and language development. Toys can be enjoyed at the library or borrowed at no cost. The toy libraries also provide opportunities for parents to connect with other parents, both during our regular hours and at group events, such as "Messy Days."

The First Chance for Children Lend and Learn Library is open when Columbia Public Schools is in session Monday - Thursday from 9:00-12:30 PM. The Lend and Learn is not open on Fridays or in the summertime, but make sure to be on the look out for our field trips!

1010 Fay St., Columbia, MO

First Chance for Children has also facilitated the opening of Lend and Learn Toy Libraries in each of the school districts though the Parents as Teachers Plus (PAT +) program. First Chance for Children also supported the opening of L&L libraries at Columbia Square Apartments and at the University of Missouri Parent Center in the Student Union.

This program is funded by the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS), The Community Partnership of Phelps County, the Children’s Trust Fund, and private donations.

Any family with a child between the ages of birth to 3 may participate. Contact First Chance for Children for additional information, or Lend and Learn Toy Libraries on Facebook, for additional information.
