Duties
Responsible for planning the implementation of the Parent Education Components of First Chance for Children programming. Oversees and bills for the Children Services Grant. Provides home visitation services to families, administrative support for the staff and advocates for early childhood programs.

Background
The youngest member of the FCFC team, Kasey recently graduated with her BSW from Mizzou and is currently working on her MPA. She started as an intern at FCFC and transitioned to a member of the team in December 2015. During her undergraduate career she was a site facilitator for Adventure Club at Battle Elementary. There she fell in love with education and after her MPA plans to continue advocating for early childhood education.

Family
Kasey is from Lake of the Ozarks and loves all things outdoors. She lives in Columbia with her cat Benny. Together they enjoy binge watching Netflix and eating too many treats. Kasey's favorite activities are running and cheering on the Mizzou Tigers.

"I fell into early childhood education and advocacy rather haphazardly, but now I can't imagine doing anything else. The difference we can make in a child's life amazes me every day, and I feel so blessed to be a part of this organization and the impact it makes."

Duties
Responsible for planning the implementation of the Parent Education Components of First Chance for Children programming. Oversee the CRIBS program and home visitation services programs. Submit reports and documentation to DSS and Children's Trust Fund grantors. Provide home visitation services to families and provide support to partnering sub-contracting school districts.

Education
B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies/ Child and Family Development from the University of Missouri Columbia. Additional certifications in Baby Talk, Safe Sitter, Touch points and multiple Parents as Teachers Curriculum certifications.

Background
Tammy has worked in the Field of Early Care and Education for the last 25 years. Worked in the area of home visitation and Parent/ Provider education for the last 19 years. Currently serves as a National Toy Library Association Board member.

Family
Married to Bill Byington who is an Investigator for Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance. They have two children Jessica and Blake. Jessica is a nurse currently working for Women's Health Associates. Blake is attending college studying business and marketing. Tammy also has one granddaughter Harper who is absolutely perfect.

We know through sound research that the majority of a person’s cognitive, emotional and physical brain development occurs in the first three years of life. Responsible for planning and implementing the parent education components of First Chance for Children programming, submitting reports and documentation to the Department of Social Services, providing home visitation services to families and providing support to partnering sub-contracting school districts.

Education
B.S. Elementary Education. Certifications: PAT Foundational Curriculum, Devereux Early Childhood Assessment for Infants& Toddlers trainer, Infant Massage USA instructor, Brazelton Touchpoints Individual Level training, BabyTALK trainer/teacher and WestEd Program for Infant Toddler Care certification.

Background
Janice has worked in the field of Early Childhood for over 20 years. Before joining the FCFC team, Janice was an Early Childhood Specialist with the Educare/Project Reach program. Additionally, Janice is currently a certified trainer with MU’s Center for Family Policy & Research Institute for Professional Development.

Family
Janice is a Columbia Native who enjoys all the Boone County community has to offer. Favorites include the True False Film Festival, Roots and Blues, the ARC and walking on the MKT trail. Her son Sam, a graduate of Southern Boone High School, attends his parents' Alma Mater, Missouri State University in Springfield.

BS Early Childhood Development with a Minor in Psychology.
Completed Parents As Teachers Foundational Curriculum training.
Working with Teen Parents training.

Background
Ruriko has worked in the Early Childhood Education field for over 20 years. One years as a Director of Childcare center in Springfield, MO; Twelve years at Head Start/Early Head Start in Columbia, MO; and has been with First Chance for Children ever since.

Family
Married to Chris Gienger July 7, 2012. Chris works for DW Auto and Home Mobility. Son Gavin Grey was born in 2013. Step Son Carter Gienger was born in 2004.

"I like to help families grow. My goal is to come along side of my families and help them prepare their children for kindergarten. The end product is always worth it!!!"

Education
BS in psychology minor sociology. Completed Parents as Teachers Foundational Curriculum Training, Parents as Teachers Model Implementation Training, and Supporting Families of Children with Special Needs Training.

Background
3 years with Head Start, ­­3 years substitute teaching, and ­­2 years Parents as a Teachers Parent Educator for the Boonville R1 school district.

Family
Married to Shawn Tarr. Shawn works for Ameren UE in Mexico, MO. We also have twin boys Hayden and Hunter that keep us very busy!

Responsible for home visitations with at risk families throughout Boone County, and work with families who utilize our Lend & Learn space.

Education
BS- Human Development and Family Studies/ Families and Lifespan Development from the University of Missouri Columbia
MSW- Clinical Social Work from the University of Missouri School of Social Work (Class of 2019)

Background
After graduating with her BS in 2015, Ellen worked as a Shelter Advocate at Rainbow House Emergency Children’s Shelter. She began working towards her MSW in the fall of 2016. Past experiences include working at YMCA Camp Lakewood as a counselor and Unit Director, as well as an after school care provider at Our Lady of Lourdes Interparish School. She was also an education intern at the St. Thomas More Newman Center, where she currently works part time as the Nursery Coordinator.

Family
Ellen got married to Joe in July of 2016. Joe works as the Communications Coordinator at the St. Thomas More Newman Center and is working on his MPA from the Truman School of Public Affairs. They have one cat, Minion. Ellen enjoys hiking, arts and crafts, and watching baseball (even though Joe is a die-hard Cubs fan and Ellen roots for the St. Louis Cardinals!).
