Job Description

  • Reports To: Executive Director
  • Status: Part-Time with possible increase to Full-Time. This is a grant funded position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide home visitation and emergency services for the CRIBS and Baby Bags program
    • Educate and support a caseload of approximately 10 families that meet program requirements using safety information from Children’s Trust Fund, and other sources as needed.
    • Visit families who receive a crib in their homes at least once a month for six months, or more often if needed.
    • Deliver diapers, wipes, and other needed emergency items to families in their homes, or at the office when needed.
    • Collect and maintain accurate and timely records of all contacts with families.
    • Report family information to the Executive Director monthly for billing and outcome management.
  • Provide parent education for the Lend and Learn Toy Libraries
    • Educate and support families that meet program requirements with child development information and community resources who attend any Lend and Learn Toy Library location by staffing at least by staffing at least three days a week, when it is open.
    • Educate and support families with child development information and community resources who attend group events at the office and in the community by staffing most events.
    • Assist in the planning, set-up, running, and clean-up of the program on assigned days.
    • Collect and maintain accurate and timely records of all contacts with families.
    • Report family information to the Executive Director monthly for billing and outcome management.
  • Provide support for the organization with other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job include:
Education
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in early childhood, child development, social work or a related field. Associates degree candidates will be considered with the correct training and experiences.
Specialized Knowledge
  • Cultural sensitivity

  • File organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills with both adults and children.
Abilities
  • To manage professional responsibilities and relationships
  • Pursuant to Missouri law, completion of the FBI fingerprint criminal record check and registration with the family care registry of Missouri.
Professional Certification
  • Parents as Teacher’s Foundational Curriculum
  • Or willing to attend training within two months of being hired
Experience
  • Working with young children and their families.

Working Conditions

  • Must have the professional flexibility to accommodate the needs of families, including willingness to do home visits in the evening and on weekends. The ability to drive his/her own personal vehicle, or arrange for transportation, for work related duties with reimbursement for mileage provided.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to get to and provide services at family's homes and community centers. Work often includes carrying items weighing less than 50 lbs, climbing stairs, and sitting on floors.
